    Alcalica

    Aegean Dream'n'Bass / Underground Mediterranea

    Foto: AlcalicaArgilos

„Alcalica's concerts combine improbable yet agreeable sounds and instruments, trip on a mutating electronic carpet and bauhausian dadaist improvisation theatre, intoxicating rituals and sincere dance music. Each concert is marked by the moment and the place. This point of encounter bears eternal resonances and touches to the core of the human matter.“

Inspirierend für und inspiriert von „places of beauty and hospitality, by people in revolt who see music as a daily need.“
Februar 2019!

    Oliver Marquardt – DJ Jauche

    Foto: Manuela Clemens

Born in East Berlin, Oliver Marquardt was first inspired to become a DJ when the 1984 Break Dance Film "Beat Street" permeated the city's isolated music scene. Equally influential was the dance music he listened to, broadcasted from West Berlin radio. After closely following these new music styles - hip hop, acid house etc – Oliver bought his own pair of turntables in 1989. This was right after the Berlin wall came down, providing fertile soil for the city's new
underground music scene to take roots and by the following year Oliver was hosting his own techno parties. His illegal warehouse parties were noteworthy in themselves Oliver forged ahead as one of the first german DJs to establish a nationwide presence and impressed people with his Dj skills and fine music selection.

DJ Jauche, as he is known, began a residency in Berlin's legendary „Walfisch“ Club and played regularly in many other Berlin Underground Clubs. 1995 he kicked off his party "Jauchomatic" where he brought his brother „Sven Marquardt“ into the club scene and gave him his first job as a "selector/doorkeeper" . Nowadays Sven is famous for his work as an Artist and Photographer and of course as the " Iron Man" selector of Ostgut and now Berghain Club. Jauchomatic stands for music from 1988 to 1995, House to Techno, Oldschool
Trance Tracks, Acid and Breakbeats. His ongoing Event is taking place once a year in his Homebase Berlin and welcomes over 700 happy Ravers.

1998 he launched Jetstream, a small-scale record label of his own. For the 1999 edition of the annual summer festival Loveparade, Oliver prepared under the name Jack Flash a re-edit of the disco classic "Love is in the Air" and pressed 500 white label copies. As the track became an underground hit, he approached the productionteam Milk & Sugar (who were running a label under the same name) for advice on giving it a bigger release.

Oliver debuted his new project Robin Masters Orchestra to showcase his own production paired with various guest vocalists. He continued to champion deep house with Extreme Couching Mix CD series released on DJ SETS now on its fourth edition. In his studio, he stayed busy working with co-producer Björn Brandt, releasing not only as Jack Flash but also as Machomovers, best known for their club hit "Jägermeister". Around this time Oliver expanded his repertoire by producing, mixing and arranging Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft's „15 Neue DAF Lieder“, the bands first album in almost two decades. Over the years DJ Jauche has completed numerous remixes, including for the seminal german punkband Die Ärzte, New York City´s rave pioneer Frankie Bones and Berlin fellow Marusha.

2008 he started releasing new music under the project " Rockford Inc." First release was on Jay Haze's label "Roots/Tunning Spork", followed by the Album release of Desney Bailey "Meant to be". Furthermore he published some vinyls and remixes under the name " Robin Masters Orchestra".
In May 2018 he kicked off releasing his new Album „Backseat Stories“ while continuously djing in clubs, such as „Suicide Circus“, „Sisyphos“, „Ritter Butzke“, „The Egg / London“, „Soho House“ and many more...

Jauche strictly plays Vinyl and combines all styles of music he loves, from House, Disco, Funk to make the events more interesting and keeping the people on their toes.

    Ducks!

    Foto: Harriet Richardson

Lani Bagley and Craig Schuftan are Ducks!. Together, they make electronic music for dancing and dreaming, influenced by Disney and disco, combining synthesiser and vocal loops with found sounds recorded on ancient cassette players.

The Berlin-based Australians released their debut album ‘Ding Ding Ding’ in 2016, which was long-listed for the AMP (Australian Music Prize) later that year. The aquatic-themed follow-up, 'Nak Nak' was released in April 2017. Since forming in 2014 Ducks! have made soundscapes for art exhibitions and art-world memoirs, mini-musical accompaniments for standup comedy shows, and soundtracked BBC Radio 4’s ‘Not a People Person’ featuring Sam Simmons.
In 2017 Ducks! were artists in residence at Blitz contemporary art space in Valletta, Malta. There they recorded the sounds for album number three, 'Things That Were Lost' due out in March 2019.

„In the attempt to overcome the self oppression and depression imposed by the idea of definition, itting in the boxes of identity, I will play with instincts and changes that result from discomfort and emptiness.
The tension between the process and the product and the desire to overcome it,

    Mwadka Polypen

    Foto: Gaelle de Radigues

„Now here is Mwadka, a DJ who makes the floor dance the voodoo, takes the crowd on a journey of many dimensions and brings it all with an intensity that expresses the joy created by music. Her rhythms are funky, the atmospheres hypnotic. The waves of melodies, vocals and ethnic percussions go into the mix. On the stage stands a good looking woman, confident, inspired, exciting, with a charisma, a desire and a sixth sense for what the people want.“
Kein Grund still zu stehen – warum auch, wenn Mwadka es so klar auf den Punkt bringt: „life is light, and the music the language of love.“

It just happens, as soon as I feel the beat and vibrations of the music, I start tapping my fingers, and there it goes, I create rhythm with the sounds of the records. Again, why should a drum be drum? Like Roland Kirk, a famous jazz player said, ‚a good musician knows how to stretch it. He can play the piano on a washing board.’ That’s what I do with the mix table.“

Hier ist sie, „a bright young woman“, bereit ihr Publikum auf einen trip voller Emotionen zu nehmen, zum Tanzen anzustecken, und zwar zu der Musik, die alle verbindet: „from the jungle to the valleys, the desert to the mountains, whatever colour, whatever background, it all adds up, it all makes the body sweat and the soul glow. Enjoy it.“

    Dub Intervention Birthday Special

    djs Ed2000 & Educador

    Courtesy of: Corin Arnold

Dub Intervention is this time also a birthday party, as Corin, aka Ed2000 celebrates his 62nd!

He has been djing for 40 of those 62 years, and will be playing his personal favorites from each year. Fellow Dub Intervention resident and compadre Educador, as always, brings with him his skills, experience and an eclectic "best of" gathered over 4 decades long professional career.

Ed2000 is host of dreamtime at cashmere radio, initiator and co-manager of dangerous drums for 20 years, and founder of dub intervention in 2015, Corin Arnold aka Ed2000 presents an evening of his own edits, re interpretations and dub remixes. No of the shelf music, no style, bpm or era boundries. The fruits of 40 years of djing.

Eduardo Delgardo Lopez / Educador has played with everyone who is anyone, but is especially known for playing bass with the Caspar Brötzmann Massaker. His radical, minimal and sequential playing seems just to be made for Mark Boombastik’s sharp beat(boxing). As a DJ – El Matador del Taxi / Educador – he serves a wide range of HipHop, Dub, Jungle, Punk, Latin and Funk. He has been playing in clubs, such as, Toaster or WMF, and the bass also with Reality Brothers.

    DJ Karli Ross

    Courtesy of: Karli Ross

Karli Ross will be droppin' a world wide selection of exotic rythms from all around the world.

Growing up with a tape recorder and vinyls of Pinkfloyd and Jefferson Airplane in the 70s, Karli got influenced by breakdance & hiphop in the 80s, looking for deep frequenced lowbase combined with sound and feelings of the favorite movie Beatstreet. Almost hyped to find the best waves of happiness in tracks of famous producers mixed in electronic, classic house & deep house music.

UFOdisco just started the next step to combine this sound with detroit style and Lofi shred, in a creation of a music collective where is space for Artists, Djs, Installation and Science to grow an exciting spirit of flow.
