„Now here is Mwadka, a DJ who makes the floor dance the voodoo, takes the crowd on a journey of many dimensions and brings it all with an intensity that expresses the joy created by music. Her rhythms are funky, the atmospheres hypnotic. The waves of melodies, vocals and ethnic percussions go into the mix. On the stage stands a good looking woman, confident, inspired, exciting, with a charisma, a desire and a sixth sense for what the people want.“

Wenn Mwadka die Party beginnen lässt, ist kein Ende vor Morgengrauen in Sicht! Kein Grund still zu stehen – warum auch, wenn Mwadka es so klar auf den Punkt bringt: „life is light, and the music the language of love.“

Was ihren Stil ebenso besonders macht, ist die Art und Weise, wie sie sich des tables bedient: nicht bloß als switch von record zu record, sondern als drum: „It just happens, as soon as I feel the beat and vibrations of the music, I start tapping my fingers, and there it goes, I create rhythm with the sounds of the records. Again, why should a drum be drum? Like Roland Kirk, a famous jazz player said, ‚a good musician knows how to stretch it. He can play the piano on a washing board.’ That’s what I do with the mix table.“

Hier ist sie, „a bright young woman“, bereit ihr Publikum auf einen trip voller Emotionen zu nehmen, zum Tanzen anzustecken, und zwar zu der Musik, die alle verbindet: „from the jungle to the valleys, the desert to the mountains, whatever colour, whatever background, it all adds up, it all makes the body sweat and the soul glow. Enjoy it.“

Ma (Japanese) = time, an interval, a pause
Malerei (German) = painting

„Laut·ma·le·rei“ is a sound/visual/movement improvisation about tactile sensation. Jazz musician Nicolas Schulze and performance artist Yuko Matsuyama will explore the waves-like correlation between touch and emotions. Visual artist Ceren Oykut applies her brush to the darkness, interpreting the sound/movement scape as landscape through her live black & white drawing.

VOOV ® systems + Eschschloraque rümschrümp present an AUDIO VISUAL release event

Violation Of Ordinary Values

audio: VOOV w. hÄK ft. SOOt & GOLD
visuals: HUMATIC w. Veruschka Bohn & Luke Bennett, u-matic / telematique

Screenshot from VOOV FORER Clip (c) Graupner/Bohn 2019

In his recent videos and music VOOV ® ironically addresses topics, such as esotherics & astrology and plays with the Myths of Dark Matter and NordStream Pipelines. The AV work is widely connected to HUMATIC’s media installations.

In earlier days VOOV composed movie soundtracks, wrote music for theatre music and radio plays and produced hundreds of noisy TV jingles. VOOV joint forces with software developers in the art group HUMATIC ® to produce audience reactive AV pieces which have been honored by international festivals, institutions and companies, such as ZKM, Ars Electronica, CYNETART, IRCAM, Guthman New Musical Instrument Awards Atlanta, EMPAC NY, Japan Media Arts Festival, Nemo Paris etc. VOOV collaborates with DJs & performers, such as Mieko Suzuki, Roberto Zappala, Nils Peters, Veruschka Bohn.

In the 80s/90s VOOV influenced the Berlin international electronic noisy music scene with his VOOV-& BOOMoperators projects, co-productions with members of Einstürzende Neubauten, Sprung aus den Wolken and DAF, as well as, producer for artists, such as Cosmic Baby, Paul v. Dyk, Futuryhthm and many others.

YES, the name confusion is not entirely coincidental: in the 90s VOOV ® & DJ Jonzon produced a track which has been worshiped by the organizers of a huge Psy-Trance party event which the baptized ‘VOOV experience’. Contrary to rumors, VOOV has never been involved actively in psy-trance, but authorized the use of the name to the original festival organizers, ... but not to today’s copyists;)!

However - we do have a softer side too :))) Its not the kind of chill-soft, its the funky, ass-shaking funky side, that is guaranteed to make you wanna move! And this is what resident DJs AMPERIA and VELA are going to do in Eschschloraque on the Nikolaus fest, the 6.12., so bring lots of chocolate and spread some love on the dance floor!

„F a l l i n g i n L o v e“  by N o e m i  V   L e v o v n i k

Falling in love again is an exploration of the way love is performed, from grotesque to sexy, occasionally touching, intellectual or even hilarious. Through a compulsive repetition, the song made popular by Marlene Dietrich is transforming into a litany, revealing the strangeness behind the current structures of love and the artist's struggle. She can't help shifting in and out of the internalised male gaze, falling constantly, but she always somehow picks herself up. Noemi performs as an old-fashioned diva, a clown and a bloody balloon-popping monster. Every Falling in love (again) is different, depending on the audience/the person, the atmosphere, the room - and it can go from ecstatically hot to painfully subtextual.  This time the performance will include Kenny Stenger on guitar.  Noemi V Levovnik is an interdisciplinary artist working with performance art, sound, text and moving image. Noemi completed her Master’s in contemporary visual art, cinema and new media in Paris and Quimper, France. She is currently based in Berlin.  Kenny Stanger is a multidisciplinary guitarist and pianist, who has performed and composed in a wide range of genres and styles. In 2008 he created “Moe’s Cafe”, a solo guitar project. Originally from New York, where he completed studies in classical guitar, he is now a Berliner since 12 years.
